DWARF CARDAMON SPICE

(1m**ABcD) Elettaria cardamomum this is the genuine Cardamon spice dwarf variety from Mysore in India. The plant is native to the western Ghats of southern India. This most expensive spice is produced from the dried seed pods (5-20mm). The Mysore variety contains higher levels of cineol and limonene and hence is more aromatic than the Malabar variety. The flowers are green with a white purple-veined tip, in summer. This is an attractive dwarf clumping variety with weeping foliage and fine narrow stems. Quite cold tolerant. Mild frostfree climates otherwise give special protection. Shade.
