…Loves to Spiral…
(30cmABCD) Neoregelia species ‘Balboa’. This is an unusual small growing Neo with green leaves with whiteish yellow edges. When the plant matures, burgundy stripes will appear on the leaves. This one loves to climb trees or posts by spiraling. Serrated slightly spiny ornate sculptured edges. Neoregelias are very colourful bromeliads grown for their foliage colour variations. Neos have rosetting broad leaves (slight serration) which open out almost flat leaving a central throat which likes to fill with water. They are easy to grow in a coarse mix or in a very well drained situation in bright filtered light. Plant in the garden in pine bark or the like. Take the pups off the mother plant when they are about half her size. Neos can be grown in all climates. Shade to morning sun. Sent in 75mm pots.
