(40cmAbcD) Kaempferia aff angustifolia ‘Silver Striped’ has large attractive greyish-green leaves with attention grabbing silver stripes. Hard to get. Blooms white and pink orchid like flowers from summer to autumn. A member of the Zingiberacea Ginger Family. Grow on a rhizome and go dormant in the winter only to shoot forth in spring with its colourful leaves. Loves moisture and shade in warmer months.

Beautiful little tropical foliage plant with lovely pink flowers emerging from a split in the leaves in summer. Lovely rounded quilted shimmering patterned foliage. Medicinal herb! Deciduous, so the leaves will die down in winter. Harvest when the leaves have yellowed or died. Native to South East Asia. Prefers well drained soil. Can be grown in pots but also makes a nice groundcover. Part shade.
